Day on the Hill

The Tennessee Federation was well represented at the annual Woman’s Day on the Hill held Wednesday, March 22, 2006 in Nashville. The federation is a co-sponsor along with other women’s groups, the main one being, Nashville Women’s Political Caucus. The Caucus works very hard in organizing this most important event. This event proves that if women band together they can accomplish much, as many “ladies in red” attended the hearing regarding the Equal Pay Remedies held that day. Per Beth Bates, Rep. McMillen thanked me as I thanked her for our very visual support. I think you red presence made an impression on that committee which passed the bill. I was honored to be able to attend the hearing and thank Reps. Marrero and DeBerry.

Twelve members of the federation attended, left to right Sandra Bennett, Sadye Partridge, Carol Turpen, Beth Bates, Cindy Bennett, Joyce Brokaw, Kathryn Brown, Mary Frances Lyle, Pat Johnson, Sharon Taylor, Mildred Cornwell, and Patricia Bartley.
