Mission: Business and Professional Women's Foundation (BPW Foundation) empowers working women to achieve their full potential and partners with employers to build successful workplace. (Adopted March 2004)

BPW Foundation partnerships build successful workplaces by strengthening the capacity of organizations and businesses to recognize and create work environments in which the skills and contributions of workingwomen are recognized and advanced. Successful workplace as defined by BPW Foundation, model worklife effectiveness, workplace equity and diversity.

Strategic Focus Areas:

Education
Programs developed by BPW Foundation are implemented through strategically identifying networks and partnerships to enable working women and employers to exchange ideas, develop and improve career skills and cultivate leadership skills that aid in both work and civic life
Research
In 1956, BPW Foundation became the first foundation dedicated to conducting research providing information solely abut workingwomen. BPW Foundation continues this tradition with primary research including reports, issue papers, surveys and focus groups.
Policy
BPW Foundation research provides insight, data and analysis to workingwmen, employers and policymakers to inform and shape public policy.

National Foundation Awards

Individual Member Annual Giving Societies
BPW/USA recognizes individual members who contribute directly to the BPW Foundation at the following levels for the annual giving period July 1st - June 30th.

Society of Philanthropists: Those who make the BPW Foundation the beneficiary of Planned Giving.

Torchbearers-Platinum: BPW members who contribute gifts totaling $5,000 or more within the above giving period.

Torchbears-Gold: BPW members who contribute gifts totaling $1,000 - $4,499 within the above giving period.

Foundation Financiers: BPW members who contribute gifts totaling $250 - $449 within the giving period.

**50th Anniversary: BPW members who contribute gifts totaling $100 within the above giving period.

Friends of the Foundation: BPW members who contribute gifts totaling $25 - $249 within the above giving period.

State Federation Award Levels
Award winners receive a certificate of honor presented at the Current Annual Conference. The contributions period is July 1st - June 30th.

Foundation Silver State Award:
State Federation whose per capita minimum support is $10-$24.99 per member.

Foundation Gold State Award:
State Federation whose per capita support is a minimum of $25 per member.

Friends of the BPW Foundation State Award:
State Federation achieving 25% of their membership as Friends of the Foundation contributors (or greater).

Winged Victory Team Awards:
     State Federation that increase their total annual support will be recognized. Each team level represents a percentage increase over giving in
     the prior year. More than one state may be recognized at each level. All state, large and small, are on a level playing field since the award is
     based on percentages.
                  Sip of Commerce Team: an increase by $100% over last fiscal year
                  Torch Team: increase by 75%
                  Scroll Team: increase by 50%
                  Nike Team: increase by 25%
                  Wand Team: increase by 10%

Highest Total Contributions from a State Federation:
A single award will be presented to the State Federation contributing the highest amount during the year.

Highest Per Capita Contributions from a State Federation:
A single award will be presented to the State Federation contributing the highest amount per capita during the year.

100% Local Participation State Award:
An award will be presented to each state Federation with $100% of its Locals achieving the $10.00 per minimum per capita.

Matching Gifts Award:
An award will be presented to the State Federation with the highest number of matching gifts to the BPW Foundation during the fiscal year.

[A matching gift is a validated contribution from an employers, business or corporation equal to an individual's contribution to the BPW Foundation. A matching gift form or letter must accompany the contribution to the Foundation in order to secure the matching gift from the matching entity. to quality for this award, validated matching gifts must be received on or before June 30th.]
