BPW/TN ISSUES MANAGEMENT AWARD CRITERIA
2006 - 2007
Entry Form
One award will be issued in each area -- Issues Management and
Legislation. A Program Report and the Tennessee Excellence in
Advocacy Award Official Entry Form, indicating the appropriate
category in which your entry should be judged, with supporting
material(s), must be submitted to the Issues Management/Legislation
Chair postmarked no later than April 30, 2006. The Local
Organization may choose one of the following focus issues:
1) ERA
5) Social Security/Retirement S.S.
2) Long Term Care 6)
Balancing Work and Family
3) Domestic Violence 7)
Women’s Health Issues
4) Pay Equity
8) Mentoring Young Women for Success
Or, you may choose another issue related to our Program
Theme.
To be eligible for an Issues Management Award, the Local
Organization must submit a Planning Outline to the Issues Management
Chair, postmarked or emailed no later than September 15, 2006.
Judging: Entries will be judged primarily in
their relevancy to BPW/USA's mission/vision and in promoting BPW's
National Legislative
Platform (where applicable). Judging will be based on the
following for both Issues Management and Legislation.
Mission: Entry project addresses issues consistent with
BPW/USA's mission to achieve equity for all women in the workplace.
(Scale of 1-15)
Process: The step-by-step procedure used by the Local
in planning, developing, and implementing the project described.
(Scale of 1-10)
Impact: The impact of the entry's target population
(i.e., BPW members, general community, etc.) is significant.
(Scale of 1-10)
Members: Each project involved prospective members and
enlisted new members.
(Scale of 1-10)
Media: Entry project received media and publicity
coverage.
(Scale of 1-10)
Quality: Overall quality, content, and presentation of
the entry project are significant.
(Scale of 1-15)
Maximum Total Points: 70 Points
I.
Certificates of Appreciation will be issued for each of the
categories (Issues Management and Legislation) to the Local Organization having
the best program promoting our Federation Objectives and the Focus
Issues of 2006-2007 in the following membership categories:
A. Local Organizations with 10 members or less
B. Local Organizations with
11 – 20 members
C. Local Organizations with
21 members or more
II.
A traveling trophy will be presented to the overall winner of
the State Issues Management Award.
The winner will be selected
from the individual Issues Management award winners in the
categories
listed above.
III. A traveling trophy will be presented to the
overall winner of the State Legislation Award. The winner will
be selected
from the
individual Legislation award winners in the categories listed above.
