PUBLIC RELATIONS CRITERIA
2009 - 2010
Official rules for Public Relations Entries:
v
For each entry, attach a letter with the following information:
a. Name of local organization
b. Name of person submitting entry
c. Name of local organization president
d. Name of division entry is for (Radio, Newspaper, Television,
Newsletter, Billboard and/or Website)
e. Detail of entry to explain how entry was used to promote
local organization
v
RADIO
- documentation from the radio station on letterhead stationary
signed by the station manager showing date, content and length of
the PSA and persons involved in the program.
v
TELEVISION
- documentation to include name/type of show on which the spot
appeared, date, channel, length of spot. Documentation to be on
station letterhead signed by the station manager.
v
NEWSPAPER
- actual clippings of the article(s) from the local newspaper, along
with the name of the publication and the date the article appeared.
These may be placed “scrapbook style” in portfolio;

NEWSLETTER
- actual newsletters along with information regarding who they were
sent to.
v
BILLBOARDS OR POSTERS
– You may submit (1) photograph of billboard along with dates it
appeared and the event promoted; (2) actual poster along with
information in narrative form where it was used. (Reader boards or
electric signs are not considered billboards).

WEBSITE
– Please provide URL address and purpose of website along with home
page printed out.

SCRAPBOOKS
– A point system and application for judging scrapbooks will be
devised and published in the Fall Achiever. The point system will
recognize newspaper articles, pictures depicting various events
(such as NBWW), etc. The application must be submitted by the entry
deadline and the scrapbook must be brought to the 2010 Convention in
Jackson, Tennessee for final judging.
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE OVERALL PUBLIC
RELATIONS AWARD THERE MUST BE ENTRIES IN MORE THAN ONE DIVISION.
Entries should be submitted to
Public Relations Chair, Susan Jakoblew. Entries must be postmarked on or before
April 30th, 2010
and mailed to 333 Leo Lane, Nashville, TN 37211.
