Announcement:
National Dues Increase:
At the BPW National Convention, the Bylaws proposed amendment about the $5.00 dues increase was passed. It will go into effect October 1, 2005. It includes increases of $5.00 on October 1, 2007 and $5.00 on October 1, 2009. The increases will be "sunset" after the October 1, 2009 increase.
The original proposed change did not include a "sunset" provision. During the discussion, a first amendment was made to "sunset" the increases in 2020. A second amendment was passed to change the "sunset" to 2009. Originally the increase was defeated; however a motion was made from the floor to have another vote taken and the second time the amendment for the increase passed. The Tennessee delegation voted as the membership wished which was against the increase.
